OUR STORY

We started Texas Jerky Co. because we were tired of eating jerky that tasted like it was made in a factory by robots who had never actually tasted food.

The Beginning

It started in a kitchen in Orange, Texas. Not a commercial kitchen - just a regular kitchen where a guy who was obsessed with making the perfect jerky spent way too many weekends experimenting.

After about 47 failed batches (yes, we counted), something magical happened. We made jerky that was actually... good. Like, really good. The kind of good where you eat the whole bag and then immediately regret nothing.

Our Philosophy

Here's what we believe: jerky should be simple. It's beef, seasoning, and time. That's it. We don't need to add a bunch of chemicals to make it shelf-stable for 47 years. We don't need MSG or artificial flavors.

We just need quality beef, real spices, and enough patience to let it dry properly. Revolutionary, right? Apparently it is, because most companies forgot this somewhere along the way.

Why Texas?

Because Texas knows beef. We've been doing this longer than most states have existed. Also, we live here. But mostly the first thing.

Every batch is handcrafted right here in Texas. We could outsource production to make more money, but then we'd have to trust other people to care as much as we do. And honestly, we don't trust other people that much.

The Promise

We promise to never:

  • • Use mystery ingredients you can't pronounce
  • • Compromise quality for profit
  • • Pretend our jerky is anything other than what it is: really good jerky
  • • Take ourselves too seriously

We do promise to make jerky worth eating. That's it. That's the whole promise.
